rz67 proii D adapter plate

Can anyone confirm if this adpater plate works with leaf or phase backs w/ afd mount and not just the ZD?

Also wondering if the metered prism will work with a digiback that is attached to proII D w/ this plate or any adapter plate for that matter......

Or will the AE prism function on a regular RZ67 w/ digi back and a leaf/phase adapter plate? i assume the communication is not there to transfer ISO info to the meter but, maybe i am wrong?

looking at getting digiback and have regular rz67 right now but, would be willing to get proii D if i can gain metering through the prism w/ it.

Yes, the Mamiya adapter plate with electronic communication will work with other AFD-mount backs, but Leaf and Phase also have their own electronic plates, both electronic and non-electronic(that requires a cable).  So you can take your pick from Mamiya or the other guys.

I believe Leaf also has a non-electronic plate that will take an AFD-mount back for use on a regular RZ67II with cable.  You can take that route without having to buy the RZIID.

Here's what I've found to be your choices from Leaf:

1)"APTUS 17/65 F/MAMIYA AFD TO MAMIYA RZ IF KIT
These adapters allow the use of either a Leaf Aptus 17/65 or Leaf Valeo 17 for Mamiya AFD II on a Mamiya RZ67 camera body with full functionality, including Live Video when used with the Live Video Adapter (904-460)"

Options 3 and 4 are the same, but for Hassy V mount backs.

Feel free to correct this information if anything is incorrect.

Hell, Leaf even has an adapter for Afi-mount backs to work on the RZ.  Neat.

Hi,
I use an adaptor plate from the RZProII to an Aptus indeed.
Works fine, you need two cables to the camera but they are not in the way.

Surprise for me was the price, I expected it to be well over 1000.00 euros while in fact it was arround 650.00 or so.

Thanks Frank D and T-1000.  I use a Phase in AFd mount.  I'm not sure if that makes a difference except that I would need to fire the back with a Kapture Group 1 shot cable.

Has anyone used a Phase back with one of the Leaf adapters?

Sorry but did not want to start another thread for this question:

I bought the PD prism finder the non AE one..
It loooks like I am looking down a long tunnel and is horrible.
Does anybody know if the more expensive AE RZ prism finders are Brighter /Bigger viewing area..
Or am is it wishful thinking only...??:+{

They are both dark tunnels, but for film neither are bad. I suspect they are opticaly the same.  There is a flip up magnifier for the RZ prisms that magnifies the center of the frame, right where the P30 crop marks are.  It sort of works.

Thanks TMARK, Not the answer I was hoping for..
My friend had the same rig but with the P45 and it was easy as heck to focus with and did not have the same tunnel effect...?
Could that be?
He had the AE prism.. I have the PD prism that I actually think was for the RB if I am not mistaken...
