Topic: Leaf Aptus vis-a-vis Sinar Emotion backs (Read 3411 times)

Hi everyone.

I'm trying to understand the various backs available in the market place these days. One question I have is whether the Leaf Aptus backs have a lot in common with the Sinar eMotion backs. I can see that one has a touch panel and the other soft keys, so my question is whether that is simply a matter of UI?

Do they share the same sensors, or are distinctly different?

...and I just read in another thread that Kodak apparently makes the Hasselblad sensors, as well as the Phase One sensors. Is that right? Who makes the other ones?

Iron,

Although both manufacturers, Leaf and Sinar use the same Dalsa sensor for both the Aptus and the eMotion backs, there is not much more in common.

Yaron, next time you're in the motherland, let us know and we'll organise a visit to the factory for you. It'll give you a good insight to how these backs are being designed and built.
