Does anyone know if all the movements are geared including the tilt?

Another thing I'd like to know is how positive the locks are on the knobs. Thats my one main complaint with the Cambo WDS, the fact that its so hard to lock the positions without accidentally shifting the movements.

My other worry about incurring the cost of moving camera platform (assuming that my Schneider glass 24,35,47,72 could all be cross adapted onto the lens plates ) would be if new MFDB's suddenly came out with usuable LCD's and live view as this would make the ground glass viewing fairly redundant.

As a state of the art, with current MFDB technology this looks nice.

Dear free,

Rainer is currently using the camera for a real shooting and will certainly give some feedback.

But here the answers to your questions:

yes, all movements are geared, smooth and precise, comparable with the smooth and precise movement on a p2 4x5".

I have no problem like you mention, accidentally shifting when locking: pushing the lock level cannot affect shift movements. Even without locking, the shift and other movements are quite steady and not easily moving.

Best regards,
Thierry

I've been using the Cambo WDS for the past two years, with film and the Betterlight, and can't say I've had this problem. In fact, there are times I simply forgot to lock the movements. Never had any problem, even when stitching.

Kumar
