Printing from within Illustrator CS3 with profiles
« on: July 04, 2008, 02:35:31 pm »

(
I am upgrading much of my photo-system:

New computor +
from Ps4 to CS3 +
from Illustrator 7 to CS3 +
from Epson 1280 to Epson R2880 (has not arrived yet) +
the next thing can be from Minolta Scan Multi to Nikon LS-9000.
I stick to film, until Sony deliver a 24x36 sensor. But I have the Artixscan 1800f with a home made
film-holder so i can make sharp 120-film scans @1800 dpi.
I can focus this home-made film-holder wich is necessary to get a sharp scan.
)

     Now to my Question:

I have never before printed with profiles
but just started some experimentation.

I can manage from within Ps CS3.
( I have done 1 print. Really good.)

But when I tried from Illustrator CS3
It just went all wrong.
( I did 2 prints. Both totally wrong )

I rarely print out of Illustrator since I use it mostly for pre-press work. When I do make a print on inkjet for reference, I sometimes forget to switch the document to RGB colour mode. Could this be the case?

I think I did that for the second try.
(But i may have forgotten to set the printer-driver to
NO ColorManagement the second time.)

And there is noting else I have to DO ?

When I print from Illustrator (7) I can print
several small testimages on the same paper.
I can also add som text onto an image.

It worked now !

Nice !

I like this profile-thing !

The monitor -print -match is terrific.
(Especially with soft-proofing on.)

And my working-space i Photoshop CS3
(and image-tag) is:
ADOBE-RGB-WITH-Gamma-SET-TO-1.5
