banding in fast mode
« on: July 01, 2008, 01:26:30 am »

I do alot of quick print posters with my z2100. When printing in fast mode I get banding. I have the paper calibrated and profiled. Is this just the nature of the beast or are there other settings I should be using?

This is sort of saying to the Dr. Doc, it hurts when I do THIS!!

The Dr says, Well stop doing that.

It depends. If some other media presets that have a slightly different weaving are tested on that paper there may be little lost in time but the quality could be improved enough. There's no claim that the fast mode delivers photo quality and quite often that isn't needed for jobs like that. Are the heads still at their optimal state ? Still in warranty and considered OK ?

Mine does the same thing in low res mode, sometimes worse than others.  There was a recent firmware and driver update, and I have not tried it again but it will probably do nothing.  Good luck, I just print high res, very slowwwww.

Actually, I may have mislead you with my previous post.

Print Quality - Standard Option - Fast

Basically, looking for a way to print fast without banding.

I never tried Fast under the Custom Options...I'll have to try that. Most of my work is for signs, banners and posters...really don't require photo quality, hence the Z2100. Everything prints fine in Quality mode...just a little slow.

Heads are still under warranty and working fine. I'll try the Fast mode under the Custom Options too see how that works.
