Gitzo GT-2931 basalt opinons?
« on: June 26, 2008, 10:26:30 am »

Continually narrowing down my tripod choices. Either going to go with the popular starter tripod, the 055XPROB and use the extra cash towards another lens in the future, or really push my budget to get a basalt GT-2931. Wondering if it's worth the extra $200 and sacrificing some of the flexibility and height you get with the 055XPROB.

Couple of months back I got Gitzo GT3530 & did a lot of travelling. I can't believe I waited this long to buy it, absolutely fabulous product, but it is carbon fiber & not basalt. Gitzo does make great products.
