Saturation on NEC2690WUXi
« on: June 25, 2008, 06:29:18 am »

Hi Folkes

I noticed immediately after moving to a new studio that all of the images on my monitors appear to have a much higher saturation than before.  Monitors are always calibrated with Gretag Macbeth and there is no change in computer setup. The only change is that the place is darker than before ... and is painted all white... very little colour.  The last place I was in had lots of glancing sun and lots of colours here and there in the room.  (the carpet was blue)  Could this explain the change in appearance?  (I mean that the images on the monitor are the only real colour in the room and therefore appear stronger comparatively)

Yes, color perception is highly dependent on background & surround. This could easily explain big perceived changes in your image's saturation.
