selphy-like mini printer for RAW
« on: June 12, 2008, 04:52:05 am »

is there any Sub-Dye postcard printer that prints Canon RAW files? it's a great tool to get handouts during a production, but i usally only shoot raw and having to shoot additional Jpgs just for that is a bit annoying. Battery-power would be great too...

Can't you just print from say Lightroom directly?

I guess that geesbert wants to print directly from the memory card. Printing from Lightroom works fine (Mac & Lightroom & Selphy combo). I haven't tried to print from the camera.

I would say no. Most, if not all printers require a tiff or jpeg as these are rather "open" types that can be read whereas every camera raw file is proprietary. The Selphy was designed, I'm sure, to be convenient for the average point 'n shoot consumer that has the ability to shoot hundreds of jpegs but only want a few printed.
