No chance! If your warranty is up then HP will charge parts and labour for replacement. FYI, I looked up the part that was replaced (the formatter board) - one shop I can see online selling it, and its about £1200 !!

Yes, in case anybody wants to know, the HP part number for the formatter board is part number : Q5670-60014 - description is : Z3100PS Formatter.

My printer is a 44" Z3100PS GP  - part number Q6660A
