Opening TIFFs in ACR4 and Lightroom.
« on: June 09, 2008, 11:52:00 am »

First off, I only have ACR4. Lightroom is on order.

I'm using PC.

In Bridge, if I right click on a TIFF file, I do not have the option to open it in ACR4, only CS3.

Can I change ACR's settings to permit this? If so, how?

Secondly, if not, will I be able to open TIFFs in Lightroom and apply changes such as the Retouch Tool?

Can you batch apply Retouch Tool changes to an entire folder of images in Lightroom like you can in ACR?

Thanks.

D.

Hi,

You must make sure your prefs in ACR/Bridge and CS3 are set to prefer ACR to open .JPG and .TIF files.

I also found the .TIF files I have generated in another program would not open in ACR... only CS3.  I found that if I first opened the files in CS3 and did a "save as" as a .TIF they would then open in ACR.  Go figure.

You can open an individual file in ACR by choosing OPEN, then going down and switching the file type to RAW.  That TIF will then always open in ACR until you do the reverse (switch back to TIF when you open it).
