Gitzo replacement parts?
« on: June 06, 2008, 04:10:38 pm »

I just closed one of the 3 snap-down locks at the top of the legs on my Gitzo Explorer G2227, and it looked off center compared to the other two clamps.  I opened it again and it came off in my hand, with a crack in the plastic where it enters the rectangular hole in the leg.

I looked up repairs at Bogen/Manfrotto.  They do not list  replacement parts for the tripod, and want $199 to service it.  It looks to me like a 5-minute, do-it-myself repair but I don't know where to get the part.  I also cannot find my bill from several years ago, but I thought Gitzo tripods had lifetime warranties.

Anybody have an idea of how/where to get replacement parts?

Thanks, Mike and BlasR.  The downloaded parts list was helpful.  I was then able to call Bogen-Manfrotto's parts department, and for about $19 I was able to order the part.  They assured me that it was simple to install, so I guess my problem is solved.
