Photos from a recent trip to Sin City. A city where everybody comes as a winner and leaves as a loser. Leave you credit card at the front desk, your cash at the blackjack table and your financial dreams in the toilet.

Great shots!

I see you were up in the Eiffel Tower. I was there just a few hours ago (I'm in Vegas on vacation, not gambling so not losing!), but it was daylight and didn't look nearly as nice as your evening shot...

I am right in believing, that pictures of these buildings are deemed to be copyright infringement?

Nice shots with no shortage of glamour.

I think I drove past a couple of those hotels on my way to pick up the Mrs. at the beauty parlour . . .

Hey, I like that pic. I will be in Vegas in 2 weeks and I will find that place and take a HDR pic of it, I hope it is still there. I don't gamble either, just like to eat there.

Good question. The law as I have read indicates that any buildings created on or after December 1, 1990 are protected by copyright. The copyright in architectural work does not include the right to prevent others from making and distributing photos of the building that are located in a public place or visible from a public place.

Besides Vegas was built to bring in the public to their money making casinos. I'm sure prohibiting photographers from photographing their casinos is not very high on their list as opposed to watching cheaters at the blackjack table.

Cheers,

Sam

Yes, I took that shot atop of the Eiffel Tower. No tripod just a Canon 5D (1000 ISO) and the Canon 24-105 f/4 IS lens. I love Canon IS lens!

Happy Travels,

Sam

Here's the one I shot, obviously not with a 5D ;-).

Lesson: Time of day and lens make all the difference...

Pretty damn sharp picture, without a tripod. Great pic from the Vegas Eiffel Tower. Now is the best time to go to Vegas, if you have money. Very cheap hotels, I guess they are suffering too.

I have been in Vegas twice in the past month and a half and it is slow. I was there during Memorial Day week and it wasn't as crowded as in the past.

These photos seem excessively saturated to me, but I understand that might be appropriate. Since Vegas is all about exaggeration and unrealistric expectations, photos depicting the scene should  likewise be exaggerated.

Tonight we drove by this scene at the very time of day Sam did his shots, but since we were driving I was not in the Eiffel Tower... But I shot other fun stuff elsewhere that I am looking forward to post-processing.
