Looking for QuadTone curves...
« on: June 01, 2008, 05:24:45 pm »

Can anyone point me in the directions of the appropriate tone curves for QuadTone Rip for the Epson 4000 for Premium Luster?  Also for Ilford Gold Fibre Silk (althought more out of curiosity).

I use QTR extensively for prints I do on Enhanced Matte, Moab Entrada and Velvet Fine Art and would like to try with Premium Luster.

Much appreciated.

Using Epson inks?

There were some posted recently in the "Files" section  of the QTR group at Yahoo.

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Quadton...s/Epson%204000/

Not sure if the link will take you directly there if you are not registered. You may have to open another window to register first.

Here is the text from under the file link:

QTR Epson 4000 profiles for UC (K2) inks on CrMSR, HahFAB, HarFBA, IlGGFS, and MoKPM205 papers.

The "Warm" profiles use K and LK only. The "Cool" add Cyan and Magenta.  I like the simplicity of the warm.

I tried them with no problem on other papers, also with K3 inks.

Let me know if you try them out, either here or there (I did not create them, just curious.)

Best,
Michael

Hi Tim

My curve setup as follows Curve 1 - UC_ISmoothPearl-neutral, Curve 2 - UC-IAlphaSmooth-neutral, Curve 3 - none. Paper type Premium Luster Photo Paper. I also have Ink limit set at -4 and Gamma -3. Seems to work well for me and even compares reasonably well to my Z3100. I do need to spray with a coat after, Gloss Differential is really bad to my eyes
