Storing roll paper
« on: May 30, 2008, 03:12:56 pm »

Any common approaches for the storing of 2 inch and 3 inch cores of roll paper? I found this online:

Seems like a nice, easy approach.

I have 8 spindles for the 7600/7880.  I leave most ogf my paper mounted on a spindle. I hate taking them off, storing, etc.

I have two Bogen Auto Poles.  I mount the Bogen Expan paper holders on those and set the spindles in the holders.

The holders are made for background paper, but work well for the spindles.  The holders can also be bolted directly to the wall, which is a lot cheaper.

They come in versions that hold 3, 4, 6 or 10 rolls. They mount on the autopoles with a Super Clamp. You can put multiple holders on a set of autopoles.

Mine sit in  their boxes on top of my flat file cabinets. They lay flat and are three high at eye level.
No problem here.

When I'm switching out a roll, I put the old one back in its bag and get the new one out.
The problem I see with this rack is there is no protection for the paper surface or keeping the rolls from coming unwound.

Not sure which rack you mean.

With mine, I use the clips supplied by Epson that snap around the paper to hold it. Some of the papers go in their plastic sleeves.

I hate taking paper off the spindles to store, and putting back on. That is usually when they get damaged. Plus I have a bad shoulder.

I only use about 5 of the 8 spindles I have right now.
