epson new plugin
« on: May 26, 2008, 04:36:05 pm »

I have an epson 3800 and I downloaded the new Epson plugin which allows users to switch between Photoshop and the Epson interface. I am unable to find any installation instructions on the Epson website. Could someone please enlighten me as to how to install this plugin. Thank you, Mary Pat

It's an export plug-in for Photoshop....you load it in the Photoshop plug-in folder for Photoshop.

Is it (or will it be) available for Macs? The epson site (.co.uk) doesn't list Mac OS as one of the supported systems.

The link to the download isn't working at present, or I'd check for myself...

If you go to epson-europe and choose uk and then choose your printer, you can choose MACOSX. This plugin is only for large format printers. You can download the Epson Print Plugin (1.01). I had to use Firefox to do this.

My question is that I can't find the plugin after I have installed it so that I can put it into the Photoshop export folder under plugins.

Thank you, Mary Pat

I downloaded it and installed it on my mac running leopard 10.5.2. It is accessible in PS under File/Automate/Epson Print Plugin.

This plugin is only for large format printers.

Did you mean the Epson Print Plug-in? Actually most large format printers are *not* supported. Only the 3800:

Epson Stylus Photo 1400, Epson Stylus Photo 1410, Epson Stylus Photo R1800, Epson Stylus Photo R1900, Epson Stylus Photo R2400, Epson Stylus Pro 3800

Nothing I can test it on.

Has anyone been able to pick custom profiles with the 3800 epson print plugin from a mac?

Yes; click on little spanner next to "Mode Color" -> Printer ICC Profile -> Manual -> Assign -> Select Profile Button. This will bring up a finder window from which you can select your custom profile.

I finally got it to work. But, have you been able to add custom profiles to the list or do you have to assign each time you go to print.

a 13" printer is *not* a large format printer.
