Automatically synchronizing LR folders

Can LR be set up to automatically synchronize folders after exporting, perhaps by using an Export Action? I'm talking about synchronizing only the folder/s containing photos just exported, not the entire catalog.

Any help would be appreciated. I find the need to switch back and forth between folders to update and then verify their contents time consuming and frustrating when it doesn't work as intended.

In LR1, you can put a shortcut/alias to LR in the Export Actions folder, and then select it as the post processing step so the export concludes by firing up the Import dialog. There's a limit to the length of the combined file path on Windows. LR2 includes a built in option to import after export.
