ColorHQ offering trade in for $500 for IPFX100
« on: May 04, 2008, 12:44:23 pm »

I have just received my Canon ipf5100 that I purchased for less than $1000. I was calling them up to ask about something prior to buying for $1,399, and in response to something I said, mentioned that they could offer a trade in on my 1280 or 3000, both of which I had not used for some time. I wound up getting it for $899, but they told me the price was going up about $100 in the next few days because of a wholesale price rise. I got the thing three days later, and am absolutely breathless.

I posted this on the Canon wiki, and several people have bought already.

Another thing amazes me is that the freight bill read $163, and freight is free to the customer. How does Canon make money? (Don't cry for me....Argentina!"

I had been looking at the Canon line of printers for probably over a year and when Stu posted this deal on the Wiki I jumped in and purchased one also at $899.  I think the price it now $100 more but this is still a bargain.

I consider this printer purchase the deal of the year (hopefully everything works ok).  Thanks Stu for putting up your original post.
