Photi Black Paper for Epson 9600 ?
« on: May 02, 2008, 04:18:25 pm »

I now have a used Epson 9600 which I want to use for large-ish exhibition prints.
What can I say, it is not the latest, but I could afford it. A friend is hosting it, a rent I am allowing him  to run some prints.
The printer has Photo Black (PK) in it at the moment, and I'd like to find some 44" media which can give good results with PK, so I can sell prints unframed.
I have tried Epson Luster, the prints look good, but "cheap", like posters. I need a look for which people will be prepared to pay - any advice ? Or do I really need to switch to matte black ?

Really like the new Ilford Gold Fiber Silk, don't be fooled bad the absurd product name, it's not gold, fibery, or silky. Very nice PK paper and the most reasonably priced new paper in years.
You'll need good profiles of course...

I don't have any problem with making my own profiles - I'm a color consultant
I'm not used to using PK for my own prints, though.
