Imageprint With New Printer--Yes or No?
« on: April 20, 2008, 10:11:38 am »

I have an older version (5.6?) of Imageprint. I liked the results it gave me on my 2200.

I recently switched to Mac...when I buy a new printer I will need to upgrade to v7 for $250  to use Imagprint with the Mac.

But I am going to post my 2200 for sale. When I get a new printer (later this yr, probably 5100 or 4880, etc).......Should I plan on NOT using Imageprint at all? If not, I will sell Imageprint along with my 2200. Most posts seem to indicate that it is not nearly as important for the newer printers as it was for the 2200?

I used Imagprint on the 2200 for predictable color results, not because of my volume (which is low).

Thanks folks,
Ed

Imageprint With New Printer--Yes or No?

If we're just talking about image quality, I don't think IP offers the same benefit relative to the base driver & profiles with the new printers as it did with the 2200.

For the 2200, I found IP immensely helpful for both color and B&W.

For my 3800, I find the Epson driver & its supplied profiles -- or even better yet, custom profiles -- to be fantastic for both color and B&W. So I don't use IP anymore.
