Decision Time on new printer
« on: April 13, 2008, 08:53:35 am »

HELLLLLLLPPPPP! I'm looking at several printers in medium format and need real user feedback on reliability, profile availability and real world costing data. My choices have been narrowed down to:
Canon 9500
HP 9180
Canon iPF 5100

Adorama has a bundle on the Canon 9500 for $550 USD with a Spyder 2 Suite after rebate
ColorHQ has the iPF 5100 for $1399 with free shipping and no tax

The iPF 55100 would be a significant stretch, cost-wise for me, but either the 9500 or B9180 would be well within the working budget. Ignoring running costs for the moment, my biggest concern is the reliability of the printer, support issues and printing problems. Surfing this forum on all three I get mixed reactions on this.
Anyone care to tackle this and make some recommendations and comments from a real world user standpoint?
Thanks,
Rob
