« on: April 11, 2008, 04:00:12 pm »

I happened to stumble across the myspace profile of Markus Klinko and it made me LOL big time. Not only does this guy have an ego big enough to have it's own gravitational pull, he obviously is trying to make up for something with the size of his cameras. He needs a frickin' harness to use it for pete's sake!

Well I hate judge but....his myspace does want to make me puke.

As for the cameras- well the rz is an awesome camera...I use one, but id be exhausted after using one of those for 10 minutes. There is just so much crap strapped to them I don't know how he can possibly focus them correctly...

Now for the fuji...another awesome camera, but why the hell do you need it if you already have 2 rz's? The fact he uses it handheld is laughable!

I'm sure he drives a ferrari strapped to a hummer.

Good post made me chuckle!

Ok, here's worse - YES, THIS IS A CAMERA.
And by the way, I don't subscribe to the "If it's Outrage it must be Art" school.

I like Markus & Indrani's work.

I have a myspace page which I use as a networking tool with other creatives and friends, I don't think it makes a great marketing option for sourcing work, I've been approached for an editorial enquiry but that was after having my page up for 3 years     @ [a href=\"http://www.myspace.com/poata8]http://www.myspace.com/poata8[/url]

All that gack and no prism... Ahhh  what can you expect rom a musician anyways?  Turning out work like they do isnt that hard when you have a production crew of 20? or thereabouts and a retouching/compositing team of??? 10?? lots regardless.

As the saying goes you sell the sizzle not the steak and in fashion there is no truer path to success.

I too like his work though. Not all of it but most of it

Yepp, I can spot the type a mile away, in fact I used to assist a photographer like this back in the days. He's all about the cocaine, champagne and screwing models.. and then he has an army of ppl actually doing the work and making sure the photos look good. Me thinks Indrani is the brains in this duo and Klinko is head of the bullshit department.

Klinko and Indrani belong to the top fashion photographers in the world at the moment.
Their work is outstanding. Ego or not, they are great.
I also think his camera is a bit too much of everything, but he gets the job done, so what...
In the high-end game it's ok to be a bit freaky, it almost belongs to the package.
Some clients like it or almost want it. Some dont.

Klinko is a camera-entertainer. It's ok with me as long the pix are good.

Cheers

Top photographer in the world? I guess that depends on how long your list is, because I can name a whole lot of photographers that deserve to be on that list before Markus Klinko, that's for sure.   But that's really beside the point, this post was not about it his work, but rather his nausea-inducing persona and ridiculously pimped out cameras

I find it quite disturbing that some people here so easily (ab)use this public domain to throw mud at a well known professional who as far as I know is doing quite well for himself and also produces decent work.

All that while comfortably sitting behind an alias and without showing any sign of comparative work from their side.

Where I come from, if one wants to criticise someone else's work or behaviour, you either do it in person, giving the other side an opportunity to respond or you keep it off the public domain.

IMHO

Oh get over yourself, I don't need your seal of approval to speak my mind. And that myspace site with all its "I'm a rock star"-kind of photos made me laugh, that's all. If he doesn't want ppl reacting to them he shouldn't upload them. JMO

More of his cameras are here. In addition to skulls and HIV+ blood, his cameras feature preserved human infant hearts, altars to Santeria goddesses, and other weird stuff. How does one obtain skulls and infant hearts?

They did get the backs correct. I'd have trouble with the left-handed shutter release, besides not being able to lift it.

A "lot" of what goes on in the public airways is disturbing.

Nobody cares, other than the participants.

James you are right obviously and I'm not here to be anyone's defender but you have to admit that some of the statements above make their poster sound dimmer than what he/ she accuses the subject of his/ her posts to be....

Oh, so I'm dim now am I? I see like most moral police in this world you are a total hypocrite and the lofty moral standards that you preach only apply to others than yourself.
