Photography in Alberta? Better Think Twice!
« on: April 02, 2008, 11:33:29 am »

If anyone is thinking of traveling to Alberta for landscape or wildlife photography, they had better think twice about it, now that the provincial government has introduced new regulations governing access to large areas of the province for filming or still photography, as discussed in this thread at NatureScapes.net:

It seems the impact of this new policy is already being felt through overzealous enforcement of these somewhat vague regulations in some areas of the province, and it means that anyone who might appear to be a "professional" photographer, i.e. using a tripod or large lens, is now being targeted for harassment or prosecution.

If any of you plan to visit Alberta to take photographs, I suggest you contact the individuals listed in the above link to express your views on this matter.
