OT HP z3100 rebates and thanks
« on: March 31, 2008, 12:40:15 pm »

Well I bought the ¸3100 because of Michael's review Emails form Charles Cramer and some help from this forum. My one thing n the back of my mind was would I get the 1000 dollar rebate. You see I have no direct mail just a box I live in the sticks. On all rebate forms it always says no boxes including HP. I called HP they said as long as I include the box and shipping address on the bill from the company I bought from they would honor the rebate. They did. I got my 1000 today . which made my cost $2612. I had a epson 7600 which I sold for 1200 so not bad. Thanks HP for being a company of their word and MIchael and Charles and the Luminous Landscape community for help making a big decision.

I just got a letter 4 weeks to the day that i sent mine in.  It said I did not include the serial number, please write it down and send the letter back in, then wait another 4 weeks.

Funny, I distinctly remember cutting out the freaking cardboard label from the shipping box, putting it in the envelope with extra stamps for the weight.

I HATE REBATES THEY ARE USELESS TO CONSUMERS!  Just lower tha damn price!

I received my $1000 rebate for my Z3100 printer - about a month after submitting it. No Hassle.

Hey it moves product and a huge majority of people forget to submit them.  They make their numbers and they just return the liability from the books after 4-6 weeks.  Now not filling out the $1000 rebate would be insane...

That being said, I agree... just lower the bloody prices.

I understand that most people hate rebates and don't submit.   I think I'm batting less than 50% actually getting paid when I do submit a rebate.  HP honored their cash rebate and free paper for me in the promised timeframe so I'm a happy camper with HP.

Still..... I can't help but think there has to be some accounting trick or tax dodge for the companies issuing rebates.
