trouble with imacon scanner

I have a Dell inspiron 6400. Can I just download flexcolor 4.0.3 and get the Ratoc SCSI to Firewire with the FR123 driver, and it will work? Or am I missing something here?

This may not answer your question, but it may help others

I have successfully installed and used FlexColor on Vista Ultimate x64 using an Adaptec controller, for my Imacon Photo, which is just a smaller version then the Precision. I believe I have installed FlexColor 4.5, don;t have the machine here with me. I also had version 4 working on my Old XP box x32. Scsi Imacon's are slow, but still good! :-)

Cheers

I've ordered a Ratoc FR1SX Firewire to Ultra SCSI Converter. I'll hook that up with a normal firewire cable, together with my girlfriends Dell Inspiron 6400 (under XP). Download the version of Flexcolor that is compatible with SCSI devices, and use the FR123 firmware on the Ratoc device.

That should work, don't you think?
