Did you install the beta drivers? The latest can be downloaded [a href=\"http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supAdvice.jsp?type=highlights&noteoid=101603]here. The driver version can be checked with the Epson Utility application.

Drivers are installed in  /Library/Printers/

The Epson 3800 driver page is a little confusing. To get the drivers working on my Mac I had to also download and install the EpsonNet Config Utility v2.2aE which is NOT on the Leopard compatibility page. I'm printing via ethernet. 3800 downloads

FWIW, I didn't install the EpsonNet Config Utility and my 3800 works fine (also connected via Ethernet).

Was this an upgrade or a fresh install?

I could be mistaken about this being a requirement. In any event, I installed the drivers first on my Macbook running Tiger and the install was smooth. On my tower, running Leopard, it was more complicated. I think I had to use Bonjour on the tower running Leopard to see the 3800 in the OS X printer control panel. I may have confused this with installing the EpsonNet Config Utility, which you have to download separately.

Try clicking the bonjour tab in the OS X printer control panel.

I installed the drivers on Leopard (on a Dual G5 and a MacBook Pro). I had no previous 3800 drivers on Tiger. I had to click on the Bonjour tab to see the printer. I didn't try to connect my printer to the USB port.

Ah, thought I checked the bonjour tab on the first time around. Guess I didn't. Perhaps this will help michaelbiondo.

I have just upgraded to 10.5.2 and cannot get the 3800 driver to be added to printers.  here are my choices:

When i select the 3800, i get an error message.

The Epson LFP remote panel and print utility seems to work, but i cannot load up the 3800 into printers.

Stumped!

Is your printer conected directly to an Apple Airport Base? If so, then is it connected to the USB port of the Airport Base?

Just had the same issue. You need to install the printer via IP instead of Bonjour:
