Upgrade from z3100 24" to z3100 44" - both non-PS
« on: March 26, 2008, 05:53:00 pm »

Hi all!

I already have a 24" z3100 and I am going to upgrade to a 44" version for a large print job under little time pressure

Will there be any software changes necessary (I am on OSX 10.4.11)? As I understand and find on the HP website the 24" and 44" have the same link for the download of the driver and firmware. Am I right? Anybody using different sized Zs on the same computer?

Next question: If I purchase the APS seperately (not the z3100ps GP!), does this have any impact on the above? If yes, I can imagine doing the print job without APS and install all software later without time pressure.

I ask these questions, because I read about problems when reinstalling or upgrading the z3100 software. I won´t have any time for trouble like that...

By the way, I am superhappy with my z3100 24"!

Best regards!

Are you keeping the 24"?  If not I would assume that not much would change.  But I have no direct experience.

I can only say on a Mac there wouldn't be any problems.
The driver is the same for non PS versions. APS definitely can be installed at any time. It would also work now with your 24" and later without changing anything with the 44" version.

Neil, Michael!

Thanks for the answer, this is what I wanted to hear!

By the way: I won´t keep the 24", I am going to sell it (Cologne/Germany)... Anybody interested?

Best,
