THE COLORS OF LIGHT
« on: March 26, 2008, 03:51:15 pm »

At last I received new scans of my slides...

I decided to put one of them here.
I tried to balance the tree with the vast emptiness of the field... Did I succeed?

You did, as far as I'm concerned.  I quite like the asymmetrical balance of the composition, and imagine that the overall effect would be nicer at better than web resolution, with the texture of the foreground more discernible and pulling the eye back to the front a bit.  Are those some sort of nests in that tree?

I think it largely works. If I had to nitpick, I'd prefer to see the tree a little more forward in the shot. Perhaps just a higher point of view would do it.

It's well done, I think.  The initial view pans over the landscape, finding the tree - which, leaning to the right, like wind pushes the eye out of the frame.  But since they eye isn't done yet, it comes back to have a look at the clouds and the colours of the sun...

Yes that is true. It is mistletoe. Thanks for all the comments. I am rather conscious photographer, still it is great to listen to the opinions of others.
Thanks once again.
