I know it is not too much related to MF but in a way it can,

I am looking for a FTP software to upload files to different server. I tried Transmit but the max upload speed I can get is way way slower than my internet upload speed. my internet speed is ok, I called Mac and from them it's the software.

What do you guys use?

Thanks

I did download and start to upload. Way better. It keep up with a good upload speed for few minutes then the speed start to drop and so far stay steady but not as fast as what it suppose to. Seems ok though.

Better soft than Transmit... so far...

CyberDuck is an open source FTP client for OSX and worth adding to your list of possibilities.

I use RBrowser. It's free, but as long as you use it in the FTP mode only.

Good Luck!

Surely you should show national loyalty and use the Swiss (Cyberduck) product.

I second Transmit, which is great for uploading as well as managing your server files (deleting, renaming, rearranging, etc.).

But also check out Ambrosia Software's cool Dragster, which resides in your Dock. Just drag files from the Finder onto it and they fly into any folder you have bookmarked on your server.

Another vote for Transmit. I've never found it to be slow at all. Cyberduck is also good.

I'm going to try transmit. I tried cyberduck and it caused all sorts of lags and hung my brand new MBP (ie Leopard, fully updated)

Anybody else have the same problem?

I registered to Transmit today, after ending the trial period. I'm very happy with the software, if someone wants a suggestion, that's mine.

Transmit has a good UI, the thing is that I noticed it doesn't keep up with upload speed. So far from my try Captain FTP is the one that provides the best upload speed.

All the other don't. So I don't know.

So performance I would say Captain FTP, UI I would say transmit.

I use Cyberduck and it runs without problems. The user interface is simpe and the data transfer rates go up to the maximum of my line (1600 Mbs).

Right, but I found Transmit to be faster than Cyberduck. But all is not lost, on customer's Macs I usually install Cyberduck when they ask me for a ftp application.
