« on: March 15, 2008, 11:20:54 am »

I will be going to Ireland for 4 days later this month.  I know it is a beautiful country but wonder if anyone had suggestions about were to go for good photo locations.  I like the sea, boats and old places as subjects.
Thanks in advance for any sugestions

The West Coast for Sure. The whole country is scenic!  only 4 days.... stay in one area.... my favorite is County Clare. E-mail me for more info, it is a big topic! -Josef

Yep Co Clare is a darn good place to start. Plenty of good accommodation at Ennis and you can drive up into the Burren with ease from there. The light on the west coast can be brilliant, and even when the sun doesn't shine (the usual scenario) some good shots can still be had.

Here is a taster.    www.justinseye.com/Blogmotherpage1.html

I'm about an hour away from Ennis BTW, but be warned that getting to places always takes twice as long as the map suggests, Ireland is funny like that, catches everyone out at first.

Well I am in Tralee, not far from Dingle & Killarney

Ideal spot for photographic chances..west cost is very appealing like that.

One thing, if you hire a car (as you will want to) watch it on the roads, nobody uses indicators over here!

Giants Causeway has some extraordinary rock formations.  Look it up on Google, well recommended.
