Advice on new Nikkor lens

I rented 24-70 2.8 recently for 4 days and loved it. But I need to sell my 17-35 if I want to get 24-70 and still can't decide   17-35 is a great lens but I don't use the wide end much any more hence change to 24-70. Ahhh, it's a tough decision though.
