Batch printing with Epson 2400
« on: March 07, 2008, 09:58:13 am »

Is there a feature in the Espon 2400 that enables you to batch  print multiple  files using the same print settings? When I had my 1290 and wanted to do batch printing I would set the paper size/type etc for the first print then run an action in Photoshop to batch print the remainder - the 1290 keeps the same settings until you change them.

This seems not to be the case with the 2400 - once you have printed a file the printer driver settings revert to the plain paper/A4 setting etc.

I'm sure the 2400 can do this but I can't find out how - can you help?

Many thanks.

In Windows, if you make your printer settings via Printers & Faxes/[select printer]/Printing Preferences instead of through the app's printer dialog, they should stick.

A great question. On Mac PPC, with the newest Epson driver, the print settings don't stick, even if you would save them under a preset.

Would be grateful for a solution or hint.

I have had a play in Photoshop (CS3) and found that if you go via File/Page Setup to the printer settings and then go via File/Print to set the colour management options then the Epson settings that you made at the File/Page Setup stage are retained.

This is on Windows XP so not sure if this will help Markhout.

Thanks Nill for the initial lead....
