Ink Dollops

Testing out a whole range of different papers on the 3800. On one particular sheet of A4 Moab Colorado Fiber Satine there were a couple of excessive dollops of ink. like ink ghad been dripping on the paper. It kinda seems the opposite of clogged head! i did a print nozzle check immediately after and all was clear. Subsequent prints were fine.
i am wondering whether it is some kind of consequence or relation to the paper surface (which i might add is a lovely paper)? There was one spot close to one edge and then over towards other edge was a loose row of spots.
Any ideas what may have caused this?

I happened to my 3800 as well. I was using epson velvet and a few magenta ink "dot" appeared. Epson support suggested i make the gap larger, that did not help and the sent me out a replacement printer.
