Please, help
« on: March 03, 2008, 01:23:26 pm »

Hello,
can anybody help us please? we now have 9800 epson and use Fredrix 901 WR canvases. Our problem is that we downloaded icc profile for this type of canvases, but the prints are greyish. When we 'match print colors' we can see it, and it prints like this.
What is the problem? Please, help.
Thank you,
E.

Yes, we did.
We can see in the preview when check box 'match print colors' all the white space turns  grey and the image too...
Actually, many icc profiled do the same thing...

Thank you in advance...

any chance you have access to building your own profile??

I find standard issue profiles to be below par generally.
I have always been a fan of color tweaking

lets face it, every machine is different.
what works on one... wont nec. work the same on another down the road.

ink sets and heads vary among other things.
its like buying a suit (or if you are a chick, buying a dress)
you gotta get it fitted/ tailored before it looks its best

Are you sure you're not using Absolute Colorimetric instead of Relative or Perceptual when converting to the profile? I've found that making profiles for canvas media are greatly improved when you read them with a Polarizer filter on the spectro.

to printmaker -
we are planning to make profiles for canvas we use, i have found on 'naturescapes' good profile maker. You are right, thank you.

to pfigen -
it's not about that - we already checked it. we proved that printer driver is not in fault, now we have to check if it's PS3 fault. We have PS2 on other machine, so we have to check from there.
thank you for replies,
i will be back with news.
Elena.
