Nikon was suppossed to release this PC-E NIKKOR 24mm f/3.5D ED sometime soon. Does anyone know if it's available yet, and if so where???

"The D60, 16-85mm, and 24mm PC lenses are all shipping now, though in limited quantities in some locales."

Doesn't help you with your second question.

Here in Vienna at Foto Soyka you can buy it. I myself played for a few minutes with it. Looks good. But I am not in the mood to buy anything from Nikon now, just made the purchase of the D3, the 14-24 and the 24-70 lens. Guess what, the 24-70 brand new lens is awful at 24 mm, clearly defective. Seems like quality control issues are not only a "strength" of Canon anymore. (the 14-24 is great).

It is readily available in Tokyo as well.

Played with one last week, it appears to be a very sweet piece of equipment.
