V/H 60-95 for SinghRay filter
« on: February 27, 2008, 01:52:09 am »

I have 2 questions about the Hasselblad Proshade V/H 60-95

1) do you know if it will work with HC 4/210 and HC 3.5/35 ?
 2) do you know if the Singh Ray 4x6-inch (100x150mm) Graduated Neutral Density Filters will work [ http://www.singh-ray.com/grndgrads.html ] ?

and generally what do you think about this Proshade ?

I'll use it with H1 and P45 and 35,80, 210 lenses

thank you

I use Lee filters with my HC lenses. I use 35, 50-110, 80 & 150. I cannot recall having used the Lee with the 35 yet!

Singh-Ray should be pretty similar.

I have not used the pro-shade with my H which is why I did not comment on that part. I have used the pro-shade with my V, frankly I found it a PITA to use. On the V, the shade was already almost useless with my 60mm. I also had to constantly check where it was otherwise I might end up photographing part of the shade. The thing also has a size that did not fit really well in most of my bags. I guess I simply did not like it and did not feel like exploring fully how to optimally use it.

I rather take of the shades of my lenses and use the Lee filters directly over the lens than use the pro-shade.

Maybe I should check one of these days whether it makes a real difference, using the shade or not.

If I have time this weekend I see if I can dig up the pro-shade from the rubbish pile and see if I can get it to work.

I just realized, you might want to know whether it fits sizewise? I will dig the thing up later this afternoon and have a look.

I also just checked on the Hasselblad site. This I copied from it.

Proshade adapters
Adapter with bayonet mount for HC lenses. Features lock to provide positive and secure attachment. H67 mm (3043415) H77 mm (3043417) H95 mm (3043419)
Optional proshade accessories

Mounts for using gelatine filters in the Proshade filter holder, which hold four mounted filters. Supplied in packs of 5 for two different gelatine filter formats, 75x75 mm and 100x100 mm. Gelatine mount 75mm (3051705) Gelatine mount 100mm (3051708)

You need the appropriate adapters to mount the Pro-Shade on your HC lenses. For the 10x15 Grad ND filters you need the 100mm mount.
