Good price for a P25?
« on: February 26, 2008, 12:55:44 pm »

Let's say the back in question is in excellent shape, low activations. How much is a P25 worth in today's market what with the DSIII? Would a '+' model be worth that much more or because it's not a '+', is it worth that much less? The LCD sucks either way.

Check out e-bay item 170196837934 Buy it now was £6500 went for best offer of £2899 and that was with a Mamiya body and 80mm lens. 16K activations. I don't know why you feel compelled to add the LCD comment no one here is impressed nor will, I hope, rise to the bait.

That is an great price for a P25 by itself.  The fact that it also included a Mamiya camera in the deal makes it outrageously cheap.  I'd take two at that price.

Nice buy that bloke got. However, I'm not interested in what past items have sold for really. I'm interested in what one might think they are worth right here right now as the back is, or technology is 4 years old. I mention the lcd because it was purported to be better, although still stink, in the + models. I'm not baiting anyone, I own a P30+

Am I the only one who thinks this auction seems extremely strange?? The sale price is WAY under market value. My guess is it's either a scam or they agreed on a different price to be payed outside the auction to keep eBays fees low.

I wondered about that too.  The fact that the sale went to a best offer is also a clue.   Price seems too low to be real.

that auction was BS. there was an ixpress 528c that went for $1200 a while back too...

I think a p25 would be around $10k, the + prolly a bit more (wortht it?!?) . seems like most stand alone 22MP backs (not lens/body, etc) are around that price.

Thought I would see what the buyer and seller had left in feedback. Item appears to have been removed by e-bay and I didn't keep a note of the sellers id to check against.
Appears to have been scam/fiddle/dodgy.

No surprise there seeing that such a kit usually goes for around $12K
