Sinar Hy6
« on: February 26, 2008, 07:17:56 am »

For your information:

It has been a long time I wanted to publish an exhaustive list of all the lenses fitting and usable on the Sinar Hy6 camera.

Here it is, a total of 46 different lenses, from Schneider or Zeiss. Some are still available (marked "X"), some are discontinued (marked "O" = available only as second-hand), and some are in preparation (marked "P").

In the column "Speed", PQS means min. shutter speed at a 1/1000 and PQ means min. shutter speed at 1/500.

Best regards,
Thierry[attachment=5302:attachment]

AFD 35mm: yes, but planed release by end of 2nd quarter 2008 (thus not in the list, in opposition to the 50mm; the 150mm and the 60-140mm which are to be released any time from now).

AFD 120mm Macro: no time frame available yet.

Best regards,
Thierry

Thierry,
Thanks for the list!   I have seen an older pdf file called the rollei lens catalog, that could be downloaded from here    http://ctrades.com/catalog.pdf
When I started working with the 6008/p20 this was really useful.  Do you know if there is an updated lens catalog?

Dear Thierry,

Thanks for that! I was wondering though, what about the Rollei Shutter adapter? It allows for the use of a great number of lenses with M39 thread and even more by means of an adapter. It would be great to find this adapter working on the Hy6. Many excellent lenses without a shutter could be used then.

Great question. What lenses do you find useful with the shutter adapter?   In the Rollei catalog the describe it being useful for Imacon lenses, 28mm and 50mm Scheider componon enlarging lenses and I have read its a good way to also fit the zork MFS for tilt (and shift?).

Just for completeness, one might also add the Schneider 60 mm Curtagon and 150 mm Tele-Xenar to the list as well.

What about the non-PQ lenses for the SLX, 6006 and 6002 cameras? I use a 40mm and a 250mm on my 6008i.

Dear Wim,

if it fits your 6008 (i or AF) then it will fit the Hy6 as well.

In other words, it seems that "my" list was not exhaustive enough!

Best regards,
Thierry

Another note for newcomers: some Zeiss lenses have FLE in the model name, but some Schneider lenses also have floating elements without including 'FLE' in the model name. For example, the 40mm f3.5 Super Angulon.

What a selection of lenses!

I'd appreciate hearing from those that shoot with this system which lenses they like for what and why.

I shoot a lot with the 110mm f/2.0 most often. It seems to do everything well from portraits to landscapes and its really easy to Manually focus with.   I also like the 80mm AF and the 180 f/2.8.

Recently I purchased a 120mm Imagon lens and 39mm shutter adapter so that's one more lens you can add to the list.  Hasn't arrived yet but I am curious to try it out for portraits.

Eric,
May I ask where from you acquired that combo?
I'd like to try as well.
Please post some of your resulting images.
Thanks,
Billy

Hi Billy,
I got them from photoshop in NY but it was their only one.  I'll certainly post some photos with it once it arrives and I've had a chance to play with it.
Regards,
Eric
