What's in your MF bag
« on: February 25, 2008, 10:18:44 am »

When you go to a shooting, what are the essentials you take everytime, something like the core equipment? what kind of bag or case do you use for your MF gear? do you always take a laptop? what kind of backup do you take (that is a tough one considering the cost of a second back, maybe the business card of your MF Rep with his mobile number is enough?)

is the amount of stuff you take much more than what you need when working with 35mm?

Flashlight is very important. Headlamp is very useful for hands free use. I use a Pelican case or smaller backpacks when hiking.

Depending on what I do but most of the time:

Backgrounds
3 or 4 flash mono's
4 lightstands
Superclamps
Laptop
2 Bodies with 4 lenses (35, 50-110 only recently, 80, 150) extention rings
1 35mm DSLR with 3 lenses
Remote triggers
Blower & tissues
CF cards
External harddrive
Softbox large regtangular
45degr background shapers
Umbrellas (white & silver)
At least 2 firewire cables
2 Backs (if it is important)

Stuff I carry but rarely use
grey card
flasmeter & color meter
sync cords, various sorts

That is about it. Quite a bunch actually and I probably have forgotten some items

My camera case is a peli roller and has:

2 H2 bodies
assorted viewfinders
lots o filters
35,100, 120, 210 lenses
lightmeter
pocketwizards
film back
P45+ back
firewire cables
sync cables
gaffa tape
swiss army knife
spirit level
some film stock (out of date now, so a bit for the sentimental side...)
lots of CF cards
some straps
6 H2 batteries
6 P45+ batteries
lots of other batteries
standard lens hoods
DB duster (visibledust)
gray cards
etc. etc.

And it's friggin heavy too, but the lighting cases are the killers

Then again, it is the MFDB forum, so its pretty obvious people have some expensive stuff lying around.
