Phaseone >DNG>Aperture 2 ?
« on: February 13, 2008, 03:46:34 am »

A couple of questions, is it possible to convert Phaseone raws to dng? If yes, has anyone had a chance to try them in Aperture 2? I know it's a bit early with Ap 2 only released yesterday, it would help my options if it works.

Here is a little workflow tip if you plan to output DNG's and any other file format (tif, jpeg, etc) simultaneously through CaptureOne 4.0xLE .
In Capture One 4.0 the ability to batch process is not obviously implemented, but it IS there!(will be forthcoming in Pro version)

Thanks,
I don't know if that's made life easier or more complicated!

They can be exported as DNG from ACR too. Just uncheck "Convert to Linear Image".

Can you open the Capture 4 or ACR converted Phase One DNGs with Capture 4 again? And use Phase One profiles with those?

I tested today, C1.4 reads the DNG files. (Phase One RAWs converted to DNG via ACR).
No problem. But some EXIF information is missing, like Camera Serial, Firmware, and Software version...
