Question for Canon IP4500 users
« on: February 07, 2008, 12:09:36 pm »

I'm about to purchase a Canon IP4500 inkjet printer for printing contact sheets and client selects.  I'd like to know how many letter size prints can be expected per set of ink cartridges (I realize this is image dependent).  Also, do certain ink colors run out sooner than others when printing beauty/skintones?

I have used the IP4200 which uses the same cartridges.  The color ink cartridges are only 13 ml.  My guess is a couple of dozen letter size prints.  It seems like I was constantly replacing them.

Also, at least the IP4200, can't print green very well and all prints have a red bias.

Why not buy a professional printer, such as the iPF5100 with 12x130ml of ink rather than about 5x13ml of ink?  The 5100 has a sheet tray for bulk feeding.  Unfortunately the larger printers are manually feed sheets.
