Camera-to-Print Video - on dvd?
« on: January 29, 2008, 07:57:43 am »

Hi

It is my first post on this forum and I already have a special request...

I am a passionate of nature photography since many years (Paul Godard - Soul Photography) and recently involved in a very exciting project : the Kids of Nature Initiative.  I live in Gordon's Bay, close to Cape Town in South Africa.

Although I live in a very developed country, this is still Africa... and my adsl connection is 'quite' slow and limited in bandwith and it would take me days to download the whole Camera-to-Print video.

I have chatted to the customer service who thinks it is not worth while distributing these video on dvd.  I respect that.  However, I believe it would be nice to have them more accessible to everyone in the world.  At least I would be the first one to appreciate and benefit from it.

So my special request... Is there a nice person out there who would be willing doing me the favour of  burning these video on a dvd and sending it to me?  I would really appreciate.

Paul

I assume of course that you would then also purchase the download so that you have a legitimate copy.

First of all thanks a lot for the offer, BlasR.

I am going to be straight forward... I don't think you are getting it.  This is not only my problem in South Africa but the problem of many people.  Downloading 2-3 GB of files is very unusual.  Not only it is expensive but it is very slow!  At a good average of 15-25 KB per sec, it would take about 30-40 h if everything goes well and this also means that your internet connection would become extremely slow while downloading.  In the internet cafe, it could even be worst!  This is our reality.  And on top of that, I pay more than 100 USD a month for that kind of service.  Sorry to be OT, but I think many of the people on these forums don't know these facts.  I am not complaining at all, I love to live here.  But sometimes we need assistance...

I am waiting for the people in charge of the sale of the video to come back to me and let me know how to go about it...  Please customer service, get back to me.

More important, I wish you an excellent 2 weeks of celebration!  Where do you go?

Paul

And keeping it all legit at the same time, too.

Michael and Chris: How about giving Blasr a bit of a discount on his next order?

Paul,

That is one of the reason, the LL do not want to send dvd,it's take to long for the person get it.

The person in the post office tell me will be there 7-10 days.

maybe you get it the week.

from Canada to my house it's took almost a month,,sometime the dvd get tired of walking in take a week to rest, so maybe yours is take some time even to drink water (just kidding) I'm shore will be there, sometime the week, if not let me know in I will send it again with ups or fedex(if that is ok with LL)

Whilst on the subject of DVD's - does anyone know of an application, prefereably free, that allows for all the multi-segments of the latest Camera Raw video tutorials to be burnt onto one DVD in a continuous manner?
