High ISO and IS
« on: January 22, 2008, 06:07:46 am »

Hi all, I've been a Nikon shooter for many moons now and with the advent of the D3 and Nikon finally coming out with VR in their super telephotos I'm wondering how this combination will work in the field, especially for flight shooting or those low light shots. Since Canon has had good high ISO bodies and IS in their long glass for some time now I'd be interested in hearing you. Thanks, Kevin

Well, IS isn't going to help you if the subject is moving.  Canon has a "mode 2" on some of their IS that let's you pan and only stabilizes in the vertical plane.
