1D Markll N tethered problem
« on: January 15, 2008, 02:18:24 am »

My friend has a Canon 1D N Mk2 and I installed the latest Canon Utilities and Image Browser on to his Mac laptop running OS10.4. We tethered my 5D and it worked fine. He went home and tethered his Digital Rebel and that worked fine. He tethered his 1D N Mkll  and it won't recognize the camera.
Anybody have any ideas or experiences like this. Can't figure out what's wrong.

First thing to check would be if his Mac "sees" his 1D2N on the FireWire bus. He should open the system profiler application (Apple>About this Mac  then press More info… button). On the left column (in Sys profiler), click on FireWire. On the right pane, there should be some device(s) listed.

If his camera is not listed, then it might be a cable or connector problem.
