Rocky Mountain Sunset
« on: January 12, 2008, 09:47:37 pm »

These sunset shots are of the Rocky Mountains just west of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
I am trying to take shots that do not require PS adjustments. These two shots are right form the camera.

Which one do you perefere and why.

Looking forward to your comments.

Keith

In this shot the sun is centered.

Here the sun is off to the side.

Please ignore the flaw in the upper right, it is a piece of crud on the sensor.

Thought I would add this, when I use to shoot film I always prefered underexposed photos.

Keith,

maybe you waited too long? Seeing the small photo next to your name makes me wish you had chosen  t h a t  one.

Wouldn't you want some  d e t a i l  in the lower parts?

A: I prefer the top one as it is more balanced.

When I started, I loved taking such photos but I have binned the slides long ago. No offense meant, maybe you can work on this and catch the twilight earlier or do some bracketing?
