Size vs Size
« on: January 06, 2008, 10:44:53 pm »

I've seen Michael refer to a sensor's megapixel count as its 'size' more than once. E.g. the Canon 1Ds3 has a sensor almost double the 'size' as the Nikon D3 even though in the usual sense their size is equal.

Can't we refer to size as size and resolution as resolution as everyone else does?

Joe,

I would like to point out that this site is visited by photographers as well as engineers.  Strangely enough, most us seem to be able to figure out what each other means.  Michael is not applying for ISO 9000 status.
