In germany there is monochrom.com. I think you can order from throughout europe there. Sadly I cannot tell you any shops in the cities you listed.

You could try Silverprint in London (www.silverprint.co.uk). The range is not as extensive as Light Impressions and they are more expensive. You could also try www.plasticsandwich.co.uk for something more exclusive (and more expensive again). Silverprint do exactly the same kind of clamshell boxes that Alain Briot refers to and does the polyester print sleeves. You could also take a look at Secol (Royal Warranted) who manufacture print sleeves and have a range of portfolio items (www.secol.co.uk).

hello to everybody,

>>sorry for reposting this question here in this forum, but I didn't get any replies in 'printers/paper issue'

reading 'Briots view' on portfolio management I was impressed with the cases provided by LightImpressions

eventhough I contacted the company via email asking for a catalog and enquiring whether they have a UK/european supplier I didn't receive any answer...

therefore I was hoping somebody might know anything similar in or around London/Paris/Munich??

I just dread having those cases shipped over and arriving in a demolished condition...

THX in advance

For what it's worth, I live in Toronto Canada, where the cost of these things far exceeds their value (not unusual for a number of reasons), so as usual I went to the B&H (New York City) website and found what I needed at about 60% of the local cost. They have a huge choice of types and styles. I ordered four of them on April 15th and took delivery via UPS this morning. They were very well packed and came in absolutely pristine condition. If B&H/UPS can achieve this from NYC to Toronto they can achieve it from NYC to anywhere - just a matter of shipping time/cost. May-be worth your while to check it out.

Also, one of my local camera/photographic suppliers in Swansea is run by a very nice chap called Mike Collier. He is a very tidy photographer himself (FRPS, FBIPP) and he can get clamshell boxes and the polyester print sleeves. Some of the prices are less than Silverprint and where he is more expensive, I think he will try and match them. Try him on 01792 473 831
