saving print template with pics?
« on: January 04, 2008, 06:04:36 pm »

Is there any way to save out a print template with the images as say a tiff/jpeg whatever, I know I can save my custom template, but I'd like to save out the finished thing to e.mail etc.  Any cheat way maybe ??  Wayne

You don't mean the Lightroom template, do you? In which case right click the selected template in Print, and choose export.

Or do you mean the actual printout? Print as a PDF - for Windows there are open source pdf generators such as pdfPrinter and on the Mac it's an option in the print dialog.

Yes the actual finished item with the images etc, ideally a jpeg would be nice for what I need (e.mail a customer) If I print as a pdf can I convert that after?  Thanks  Wayne

You could, but you might as well email the pdf.

I can't believe software aimed at photographers won't let you save a contact sheet (or template with images) out, it's crazy you only have the print option!.  Didn't anybody think pro's just might want to come back in a weeks time and print another one without having to make it again.  Why no save or export option for a made up template???      I can't even find the PDF option lol!   Thanks for the reply, looks like it's back to photoshop to do a job properly.  Wayne

Then that sounds like there's some other problem. I regularly save to PDF from Lightroom on my main PC, using either the Adobe Acrobat printer or the open source pdfCreator program.

Thanks John, I have acrobat 5.0 but have had the problem on and off since new, it comes up with printer not found (or something similar) and I know I have selected acrobat.
I'm waiting for a new computer (should have been here by now) so everythings going to be a fresh install, hopefully it's work then.  Wayne
