Rollei electronic shutters & the batteries
« on: January 04, 2008, 12:30:40 am »

Hi

Does anyone have a source for Rollei electronic shutter items, parts & service in the USA?

I have a Power Interface (direct plug-in) that has died once again. Second one. Worked fine yesterday and today it is dead. I have several of the rechargeables but they are really hopeless and do not last.

Does anyone else have problems with these batteries?

The biggest problem is I am trying to complete a shoot and a USA source that actually stocks items
would be very helpful.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

HI Brent. I would try Jeff at Badger Graphics in Wisconsin.   I had a rollei dealer in NYC who I will not recommend.  The rechargeable batteries never lasted that long... per charge but I never noticed that they got worse over time.
I had tried to hook up a Quantum battery to the shutter but that never worked although I know one person who did claim they could get it to work with a specific cord.. Again, did not work for me.

Have you tried C-Trades in Calif?

Also, for the rechargeable batteries - the charger from Maha does a much better job and finds renewed vigor in older batteries:

Rollei have the Type C Rapid charger with discharge mode out now, which makes a significant difference regarding battery life. I've had one for a while and a few of my no-hoper batteries leapt back from the dead - a significant improvement!
