Downloading job info from Epson 9880

I really like my new Epson 9880, EXCEPT...

Does anyone know of a hack or hidden menu that allows you to download the job history from the printer to the computer?

Yes, I know I can print the job history using the printer's menu system. But the result is anything but user-friendly. You get a page of hard-to-read text that's difficult to easily read.

What I'd really like for Epson to do is allow the user to download the job history right into Excel, Access, or similar programs in order to ease the task of job accounting and costing. Right now, the user has to print the job history and then manually enter the data into another application (i.e., Excel). There has to be a better way.

So, does anyone know of a clever hack to accomplish this, or is it even possible?

Scott,

You have to use the LFP control panel application. You will find all the info you need there.

Jochem, thanks for the tip. I hadn't looked at the LFP Remote Panel yet. Although it doesn't allow you to save the job history in a format that can be easily imported into Excel, it does display the information on-screen in a bit clearer way than the physical print-out does.

At least by displaying the info on-screen I can cut and paste into Excel. So it's a bit easier than the paper print-out.
