Does anyone have any experience with the Hotels that are located in or near Tikal?
If yes, do you have any suggestions for photographing the Mayan sites?

Most people stay in nearby Flores which is better suited for tourist accomodation. However Flores is far from Tikal though well served by transportation. There are a few options closer to the park, which are definitely of interest to those who would want to be in the park as early as possible since you would experience the morning light as well as the park with all it's early morning nature sounds (best before the tour groups arrive from Flores).
I can't give you any specific help other than to suggest that the few options close to the park are worth their added expense. Try the Lonely Planet Thorntree board or the Virtualtourist.com site for specific hotel recommendations.
